Giving Tuesday | Give the Gift of Art
Hello Families and Thank you for a magical evening!
On Saturday, November 22nd, we hosted Canvas & Cocktails, a garden party fundraiser in support of our Home Is Where the Art Is campaign. We are so grateful to everyone who attended, and to the artists and volunteers who helped make the evening such a success.
One of my favourite moments came at the end of the garden under the big tree, where we had an invitation to paint set up with brushes on very long sticks. Two of our dedicated Kaleidoscope children jumped right in, completely engrossed, using their whole bodies to sweep paint across the paper! It was like watching tennis...sounds and all. Pure joy. Pure Kaleidoscope!
That night reminded us of the MAGIC Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation has brought to our community for the past twenty years. And is reminds us very clearly of what is at stake if we can not find a new home. This is unimaginable for us and we must try everything.
Many have asked us about the Montpelier Property, on the corner of the Arboretum that is empty. We believe this historic space could become our forever home; A community centre for children, artists, families and teachers. We have submitted a proposal to government and they have not said yes, but they also have not said no. For this dream to become a reality, the community now needs to let the government know how they feel.
Today, on this beautiful 'Giving Tuesday', you can support by doing the following:
Sign the Petition. Add your voice to show the government what the community truly wants.
Spread the Word. Share this petition with friends, family and colleagues.
Engage Your Leaders. Write to your minister and explain why Kaleidoscope must continue and how Montpelier would be a good home.
Donate. Contribute to the Home Is Where the Art Is campaign to help fund the renovations of our new forever home.
