Home Is Where the Art Is
Help Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation Find Its Next Home
After 20 years of creativity and community at the historic Old Elliot School, our lease at 27 Jubilee Road will end on June 30, 2026. This space has been the heart of our work, where children’s imaginations grew, the community gathered, and the arts changed lives.
As we prepare for this next chapter, we need your help to find a new home that will let us continue inspiring Bermuda’s young artists. We’re seeking a space that offers:
-
A central location
-
A welcoming garden
-
At least 2,500 sq. ft. of indoor space
To make this possible, we’re launching our “Art Is Where the Home Is” campaign to raise funds for our next home, a space where creativity, learning, and community can continue to thrive for generations to come.
We welcome opportunities to view available properties and connect with landlords or partners who share our vision. Kaleidoscope is flexible, open to simple tenancy or creative collaboration, and ready to bring our energy and imagination to a new space.
Together, let’s create a welcoming home where art and Bermuda’s creative potential can flourish
Sign Our Petition
In August, a formal proposal for the adaptive use of Montpelier, located at 15 Middle Road in Devonshire—on the corner of the Arboretum—was sent to the government. The grade-3 listed building has sat empty for many years. It would provide both the indoor and outdoor space that Kaleidoscope requires. The governments current plans are to turn the property into a private rental. Our hope is to secure a change of use to allow Montpelier to be turned into a community centre that would benefit children, artists, families, and teachers for generations to come.
We need your support. Please sign this petition to ensure that your voice is heard. Together, we can encourage the government to reopen the use of Montpelier to public consultation, so that it can be used not to benefit just one family, but many, and keep the arts alive and accessible to all in Bermuda.

About Us
Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, registered non-profit #765, is dedicated to nurturing creativity, confidence, and resilience in Bermuda’s children through the arts and connection with nature.
For nearly 20 years, Kaleidoscope has been a trusted partner to families and schools, enriching the lives of more than 10,000 young Bermudians through hands-on, creative learning at the historic Old Elliot School in Devonshire.
With our lease at 27 Jubilee Road ending in March 2026, we are now seeking a new home where we can continue and grow our educational mission. We’re looking for a property that welcomes children and families and provides space for a vibrant centre devoted to creative learning, youth development, and community engagement.
Since our founding in 2006, Kaleidoscope has delivered a diverse mosaic of programs, including:
-
Partnerships with public preschools and primary schools
-
After-school classes and homeschool groups
-
Camps and early childhood education
Each year, we reach over 1,000 children from across the island, helping them explore their potential through art, play, and discovery.
Kaleidoscope has a strong record of responsible stewardship, property revitalization, and lasting community impact. Many of our early participants have grown into volunteers, assistants, and teachers, proof of the lasting influence of creative education.
Our vision is simple and strong: to help every child grow through creativity, imagination, and connection with nature.

Proven Record
Kaleidoscope has a demonstrated history of successful property revitalization. When we began our tenancy at the Old Elliot School, the building and its grounds were in significant disrepair. In partnership with local contractors, donors, and dedicated volunteers, we:
-
Installed new electrical and plumbing systems throughout the building
-
Rebuilt ceilings and replaced/repaired windows
-
Upgraded key infrastructure, including heating, water, and safety systems
-
Installed kitchens, retiled bathrooms, and renovated all classrooms and common areas
-
Built a lush, productive garden with fencing, planting over 15 trees (including ten fruit trees), as well as pollinator beds, edible gardens, and outdoor learning spaces integral to our programming
The restoration of the Old Elliot School was made possible through a combination of community fundraising, loans, and significant in-kind donations of materials and time. The initial restoration project costs in 2006 were approximately $800,000 with significant additional improvements undertaken over the course of our tenancy. Our ability to manage substantial capital improvements and faithfully maintain a historic property underscores our value as a long-term, responsible tenant.
This hands-on experience in managing substantial capital improvements, fundraising, and mobilizing community support underscores our readiness to take a new property – now backed by nearly two more decades of experience.
