The Art+ is a play & art based learning space. We pride ourselves on a small ratio of students to teachers who facilitate learning in a fun, loving and gentle environment. The key to discovering hidden talents in children is to allow them to teach us how they are learning by exploring within age appropriate boundaries. Children will experience play and create with limitless imagination.
Day in Art+
In the mornings, children explore the outdoor learning space later coming indoors to investigate learning and sensory stations around the classroom. Here they are encouraged to be independent thinkers and learners and to achieve great satisfaction in art-based activities that are infused with the building blocks of learning. Children are encouraged to gain fulfillment with open-ended activities and to explore the endless possibilities of learning.
In the afternoons, students come in for quiet time which leads to collaborative activities promoting togetherness as a group and in the community. Children are encouraged to think of themselves as part of a whole and to support each other whilst making a difference in a small way in the community.

Meet our dedicated Art+ Daycare teachers, Ashley DaCosta and Shakira Coke. With a deep passion for nurturing creativity and fostering a love for learning, they create a vibrant and inspiring environment for our little ones. Ashley's fun-filled flair brings joy to every lesson, while Shakira's warm approach ensures each child feels safe and valued. Together, they inspire curiosity and imagination, helping children thrive in their formative years.
Ashley Desilva
Hello. My name is Ashley Desilva. I am an early childhood qualified teacher. My favorite places in the world are the beach and spending time with my family. I love working at Kaleidoscope. Becoming the Art+ Teacher has been a very exciting year and a half. I love working here, and it makes me so happy to be surrounded by people who make you feel like family.
Shakira Coke
Shakira holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University in Toronto. As a mother of two and lifelong art lover, she enjoys creating engaging experiences for children and sharing her passion through her work at Kaleidoscope. There, she combines her love of art, children, and nature, believing that Mother Nature is the greatest teacher and that learning through play helps children thrive.
